Rainbow uniforms have always been a part of the Houston Astros history. The team took a step back with their recent uniform redesign to embrace their roots, switching from brick red and black to orange and blue.
The team has created a clean look with the Star-H cap. But the move to not fully go back to a throwback opened the door for the team to still have special nights with throwback uniforms.
The Astros once again wore throwback uniforms in Seattle on Saturday night. One of the previous times was one of the most iconic. In 2015, the team wore throwbacks and a photo from the game became the cover of the Sports Illustrated that proclaimed the Astros would be 2017 World Series Champions.
The Astros wore a replica of the 1977 uniform. With the help of Astros Authentication Manager Mike Acosta, it appears the Astros nailed it. Check out the comparison —
