Astros wear Father’s Day jerseys this weekend

Luv Ya Blue.

MLB: Boston Red Sox at Houston Astros Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Astros over the weekend will look more another Houston team of the past, the Oilers. It’s a change that has nothing to do with remembering Houston’s first football.

But instead, the Astros and the rest of Major League Baseball are celebrating Father’s Day with powder blue uniforms. MLB outlined the uniforms back in April:

Similar to the Mother's Day theme, for a second consecutive year Father's Day uniforms will maintain the same club marks but also will feature light blue incorporated in the logos. The caps will have a blue shadow tech heather crown and graphite visor. Also like Mother's Day, each club may choose from two different pairs of light blue-infused socks. Players have worn blue ribbons and sported blue wristbands throughout the years on Father's Day since MLB first partnered with the Prostate Cancer Foundation in 1996.

MLB and the Prostate Cancer Foundation set up the Home Run Challenge since 1996 to donate funds for prostate cancer research.
