Preview

After a successful 3-1 series win over the Rangers, Houston turns it attention to their biggest rivals...according to the current standings, that is.

Though not given much love pre-season, the Angels have done solidly for themselves to this point, entering this series at .500 and in second place behind Houston in the American League West division. They’re 9-4 at their home ballpark, where business will be conducted during this three-game duel.

Tonight features one of the world’s premier pitcher-hitter matchups, as Keuchel, winner of April’s AL Pitcher of the Month award, will square off against the incomparable Mike Trout, who took home the AL Player of the Month award after posting staggering numbers; he enters this tilt with a 221 wRC+, third-best in the Majors.

On the other side, Chavez will look to continue his success against Houston; in 22 career games against the Astros, he owns a 2.70 ERA. Jose Altuve is the only man on the roster with any real level of success against him in a sample of more than a few plate appearances (.318 BA with a .713 OPS in 23 PA).
