Dallas Keuchel has put his 2016 campaign in the rearview mirror and returned to his Cy Young award form in the month of April for the Astros. Major League Baseball took notice and named Keuchel the American League Pitcher of the Month for April.

Keuchel, during the month of April, went 5-0 with a 1.21 ERA, in six starts including a complete game. He allowed just 25 hits and 11 walks while striking out 36 over 44 2⁄3 innings. He led the majors in wins (5) and innings pitched (44 2/3) while ranking third in the AL in ERA (1.21) and opponent batting average (.164).
Keuchel is the first pitcher in franchise history to win a pitcher of the month award four times. He previous won the honor in 2015 three times (April, May, August). Keuchel is now one of four active pitchers to have won four American League Pitcher of the Month Awards, also Bartolo Colon (4), Felix Hernandez (4) and Justin Verlander (4).
