Preview

The Houston Astros are the first team with 30 wins and now they send out Lance McCullers Jr. in another grade-A matchup with Jordan Zimmermann.

McCullers is hoping to continue his success at Minute Maid Park. He is 11-4 with a 2.11 ERA in 24 career home starts. McCullers has been just as good this season at home, he is 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA in four starts.

McCullers faced the Tigers once in 2015, allowing two runs over six innings. Of the Tigers that have faced McCullers, only four have a hit: Miguel Cabrera, Jose Iglesias, J.D. Martinez, and James McCann. McCann is the only one with an extra-base hit (a double).

Jordan Zimmermann was one of the biggest prizes of the 2016 offseason. He has proved to be one of the biggest flops thus far too. Zimmermann has allowed four or more runs in six of his last seven starts.

Zimmermann is 2-2 with a 2.93 ERA in five career starts against the Astros, with the last strat coming in 2014 with the Nationals.
