Preview
The Astros came back down to turn a bit again against the Indians. Now Houston faces the another one of AL Central’s top pitchers, Michael Fulmer.
A less than ideal way to get back on into the win column. But at least, Houston has Dallas Keuchel going to counter Fulmer...oh wait. Keuchel is out with a pinched nerve.
Now the Astros have to lean on Brad Peacock in his first start of 2017. Peacock was been super successful in his new role with the Astros as the long man out of the bullpen. Peacock is 2-0 with a 1.10 ERA in 12 relief appearances.
Peacock hasn’t been able to find the same success as a starter. Peacock is 11-16 with 4.39 ERA in 46 career starts. He was 0-1 with a 3.65 ERA in five starts in 2016.
Fulmer, the reigning 2016 AL Rookie of the Year, was the bright star of the season for the Tigers last year. Michael Fulmer has continued the success in 2017. He's been ever on the road in 2017, he is 3-1 with a 2.25 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP.
Only Carlos Beltran (0-for-7) and Nori Aoki (0-for-4) have previously faced Fulmer, with neither getting a hit in a collective of 11 at-bats.
