Preview

The Astros took three out of four from the Yankees and are riding high into Miami to face the Marlins. Houston faces an old friend on the mound with Dan Straily.

Straily was one of the key pieces in the Astros trade with the Cubs for Dexter Fowler. He was basically given up for free to pick up a backup catcher for a month named Erik Kratz.

Straily was cut by the Padres before the start of the 2016 and he spent the entire season with the Reds. He was traded this offseason to the Marlins for Austin Brice, Luis Catillo, and Zeke White. Straily was a low-cost option to help build up the Marlins' tragic loss of José Fernández.

Straily has quality starts in two of his last outings, and he allowed threes or less in five of his last six starts with at least five innings pitched.

He is coming off most recent against the Cardinals in which he allowed only one run over seven innings.

Joe Musgrove starts for the Astros with after arguably his best start of the 2017 season, allowing two runs over six innings.
