Preview
Let’s try this again. After Saturday’s rainout, the Astros and Yankees will play a doubleheader on Sunday.
The Astros attempt to win six in a row and keep building on the best record in baseball with Mike Fiers on the mound. Fiers has been all over the place. He has allowed an AL-high 14 home runs and Fiers has allowed multiple homers in his last five starts.
It isn’t a good sign for Fiers facing the team with the second-most home runs in the American — New York has 52 home run through 33 games.
Luis Severino is in his third with the Yankees in a young career.
Severino has pitched seven innings (with a total of one run allowed) in two of his last three innings. Sandwiched in between those two quality starts, he gave up five runs in 5 2/3 innings against the Blue Jays.
Severino only previous appearance against the Astros came in relief. He pitched two scoreless innings in 2016.
