George Springer continued to be the Astros driving force to start the 2017 season. Springer continues to hold the major league leading 191 straight games played including all 162 games in 2016.
He currently has the seventh-longest streak in club history and the longest streak since Jose Altuve in June 2015-August 2016 (202 games).
Springer hit his third home run on Thursday and his second lead-off home run of the season. Springer became the first player in Astros history to hit a leadoff home run after hitting a walk-off home run the night before, per Elias.
Springer now has 11 lead-off home runs in his career. He now ranks third on the list behind Craig Biggio (53) and Terry Puhl (13).
