Indians SB Nation: Let’s Go Tribe

Pitching Matchup

RHP Lance McCullers Jr. (2-0, 3.38 ERA) vs. RHP Trevor Bauer (1-2, 6.35 ERA)

Preview

Heading into this series in Cleveland, Astros’ fans were excited to see matchups against the soft underbelly of the Indians’ rotation while avoiding Corey Kluber and Carlos Carrasco, but Josh Tomlin pitched pretty darn effectively over six innings, lowering his ERA all the way down to 9.33. Let’s hope Trevor Bauer doesn’t continue the trend and keeps pitching like he has all of 2017 so far.

Lance McCullers makes his first ever appearance against the Tribe, so that should be fun for Jose Ramirez and co.

Marwin Gonzalez is making his first start at second base of the 2017 season after Teoscar Hernandez Jimmy Paredes’d the hell out of Altuve last night. It appears that Jose will be okay, with the off day more of a precaution than anything, but Hernandez will probably be headed to the 10 day DL after sustaining a painful left knee contusion.

Josh Reddick will be doing his George Springer impression once again, leading off and playing centerfield, but you won’t hear any complaints about his defense from this writer after his highway robbery of Jason Kipnis last night.

The Astros currently have the best record in the American League and are off to their best start to a season since 2006. Let’s see if they can add to that AL West lead tonight.
