Another day of baseball in the books. See how the teams and prospects performed in their games last night.


AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (8-8) won 8-5 (BOX SCORE)

Late rally helps Fresno. Holmes got the start allowing 5 runs in 4 innings of work. The bullpen was great though tossing four scoreless innings. In the 6th inning, down 5-0, Reed hit a 3 run HR to make it 5-3. Fresno rallied in the 8th for 5 runs on a bases loaded walk to Tucker and a grand slam from Hernandez. Jankowski was able to close it out with a scoreless 9th inning.

Note: Hernandez has 4 HR, 14 RBI in 14 games this season.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (10-4) won 8-3 (BOX SCORE)

Corpus started slow but is playing well now. Laureano got their scoring started with a 2 run single in the 3rd inning. James tossed the first five innings allowing just 3 runs. Armenteros pitched the last four innings and didn't allow a run picking up four strikeouts. In the 5th inning they got 3 runs on a Singleton 2 run single and a run when Laureano stole home. They would add three more in the on a Singleton RBi single and a Davis 2 run HR, which was more than enough for the win.

Note: Davis has 4 HR, 10 RBI over his last 10 games.


A+: Buies Creek Astros (12-4) won 9-4 (BOX SCORE)

Buies Creek is dominating the Carolina League. Quiala got the start and allowed 3 runs over 3.2 innings but the offense stole the show again. They got 6 runs in the first inning on a Straw RBI single, Tucker sac fly, Porter RBI single, and de Oleo 3 run HR. de Oleo hit a solo HR in the 3rd inning. In the 8th inning, de Oleo hit another HR, his 3rd of the game. They would add another run in the 9th on a Birk RBI single. Valdez allowed 1 run over his 3.2 innings of work in relief.

Note: Tucker is hitting .296 with 6 2B, 3 HR, 16 RBI, 6 SB in 15 games.


A: Quad Cities River Bandits (9-6) won 3-1 (BOX SCORE)

Another win for Quad Cities. Adcock got the start and was great again going 4.2 innings allowing 1 run with 6 strikeouts. Johnson got Quad Cities on the board with a solo HR in the 2nd inning. In the 5th inning, Almonte added a 2 run HR. Sandoval relieved Adcock and tossed 4.1 scoreless innings to pick up the win for Quad Cities.

Note: Johnson has 3 HR, 11 RBI in 9 games this season.
