Pitching Matchup

LHP Dallas Keuchel (1-0, 0.64 ERA, 0.50 WHIP) at RHP Kendall Graveman (2-0, 2.08 ERA, 0.85 WHIP)

Preview

After the pitching kept the Astros afloat through the first couple of series the Astros offense finally arrived in Seattle. Exploding for 17 runs over the last two games, the Astros moved to 6-4 on the season and 5-1 against the Mariners...I mean can we just keep playing the Mariners every night?

Following an off day, the offense will look to carry that momentum down to Oakland against Athletics starter Kendall Graveman. Through his first two starts of the young season Graveman has pitched to a 2-0 record behind a 2.08 ERA. In his career against the Astros, Graveman has racked up a 3-2 record along with a 4.46 ERA.

On the flip side, Dallas Keuchel will be taking the mound for the Astros looking to continue his fast start to 2017. Through two starts, Keuchel has pitched a near perfect 14 innings giving up one run and striking out eight.

Matchup to Watch: Jose Atluve vs Kendall Graveman

Graveman has had the upper hand in the past, only surrendering four hits to Altuve in 18 at bats. Altuve has gone 5-7 over his last two games, though, so hopefully he can finally flip the script against Graveman and keep the good times rolling for the Astros offense.
