Astros unveil renovated center field area

Tal’s Hill is gone, but Minute Maid Park now has a plethora of attractions in center field.

Tal’s Hill defined Minute Maid Park, now it’s gone. But it may soon be forgotten. The Astros held an open house for the new attractions in center field on Wednesday.

Astros owner and President of Business operations Reid Ryan were on hand to take the media through a tour.

Reid said of the changes:

"Jim Crane had a vision for enhancing the fan experience at our ballpark," Ryan said. "Today, we were proud to have that vision come to life. The new center field area is a spectacular addition to Minute Maid Park that we know our fans will thoroughly enjoy."

The two main additions in center field are new batter’s eye and the new restaurants Shake Shack, and Torchy’s Tacos.

The other changes include the Budweiser Brew House, a bar-style space next to the Astros bullpen; Budweiser Patio; Champions Pavilion; new elevator and escalator near the Budweiser batter’s eye bar, Lexus Field Club, a field-level view space; and a new Uber pick-up and drop-off.

Another chance is the FiveSeven Grill, it is now the FiveSeven Market. The market will offer "a wide variety of fresh and packaged food and beverage items including a wide assortment of salads, fruit cups, and vegetable cups. Fans can also pick up last-minute candy snacks and energy drinks."

In all, it seems like a great upgrade to the space and make it easier to move on from Tal’s Hill.
