Yankees 6, Astros 4: Stubbs, Astros unravels in final frame

Astros allowed three runs in the 9th on two errors and three walks.

In the end, Spring Training results don’t matter. That fact will be retold again to the Astros have blown up on Sunday against the Yankees.

The Astros entered the ninth inning with a 4-3 lead but left with a 6-4 loss.

The final frame turned for the Astros with two errors from catcher prospect Garrett Stubbs. Jandel Gustave walked three batters and uncorked two wild pitches.

Lance McCullers started for the Astros, he allowed two earned runs on five hits over 3 2/3 innings. But exited after his cleat blew out causing him to bleed from his toe.

Colin Moran continued his strong spring with two RBIs in the game. Yulieski Gurriel and J.D. Davis each drove in a run for the Astros.

Josh Reddick had a solid day in the field. He made a diving catch on Greg Bird in the fifth inning and gunned down former Astro Ronald Torreyes attempting to stretch a single into a double in the second inning.
