What is the biggest surprise of this list? Probably the fact that the Astros are carrying three catchers with Juan Centeno. And even the fact that Centeno is picked over Max Stassi but Centeno does bring the option of a left-handed bat.
Collin McHugh was arguably the biggest pitcher left off the list.
It wasn’t a surprise to see Mike Fiers excluded from the pitchers' list but the selections to lean toward McCullers coming out of the pen. Peacock and Morton appear to be the next two pitchers that will be called upon.
Tyler White can play both first base and third baseman while playing all over the infield in the minors. He has value as a backup. But it must have been tough to leave someone like Tony Kemp off the roster.
