The Astros still have a few more spots they can fill with the expanded roster. The team exercised that option on Monday, calling up catcher Max Stassi and LHP Kevin Chapman.

Stassi, 25, has been stuck in Triple-A. He hasn't been able to establish his bat at upper levels of baseball and Evan Gattis has moved back to catcher. Stassi is batting .230 (56x243) with 12 doubles, seven home runs, and 32 RBIs in 69 games with Triple-A Fresno.

Chapman, 28, returns to the Astros after pitching 1 1/3 innings on Aug. 11 in Minnesota. Chapman gives the Astros another left-handed pitching option with Tony Sipp. Chapman is 3-4 with 4.87 ERA 51 games with Triple-A Fresno.

The Astros have already made September callups, adding RHP Jandel Gustave, RHP James Hoyt, and first baseman Tyler White.

The Astros have not elected to call up David Paulino, Colin Moran, Nolan Fontana, Andrew Aplin and Jon Singleton.
