Broadcaster Bill Brown had one more game to call for the Astros. It was a get-away 1:10 Wednesday start between the Astros and Mariners.
Starter Doug Fister made sure the game wasn’t in doubt early. Robinson Cano deposited a 2-1 fastball into the stands for a 3-run home run in the first inning in route to a 12-4 Mariners win.
Fister would last just 1 1⁄3 innings, allowing five runs on five hits. Kevin Chapman couldn’t hold the door, allowing two runs on four hits in 1 2⁄3 innings to put the Astros behind 7-0.
George Springer and Evan Gattis would add home runs to put Houston on the board. While Jake Marisnick doubles home a run in the fifth and later scored on an excellent slide following an Alex Bregman single.
The slide was reviewed and Marisnick was called safe.
The Mariners would close out Browns and Tal’s hill time at Minute Maid Park with a loss.
