The Houston Astros are already backed into a corner without Alex Bregman, Lance McCullers, and Dallas Keuchel as they fight for the final Wild Card spot. But it got a little worse on Friday night as Carlos Correa exited the game against the Angels in the ninth inning after falling hard on a diving catch attempt.
Correa appeared to fall hard on his glove shoulder has headed straight out to catch a double from Rafel Ortega. Correa has already been dealing with inflammation in that same shoulder earlier this season.
The loss of Correa for any amount of time is a hurdle the Astros will not be able to climb over. Can in point, the Astros would be without a guy that can make a play like this:
There was no word on Correa’s status after Friday’s game. Correa’s injury was salt in the wound as the Angels scored three runs on the play to push their lead to 10-6 and complete their comeback victory.
