Astros make September callups, add Gustave, Hoyt and White

Astros add two relievers and a bat.

September 1 is the day that major league baseball clubs can use their entire 40-man roster for the remainder of the season. The Astros have a few players in Triple-A that could be reinforcements for a playoff run.

The team announced the addition of Jandel Gustave, James Hoyt and Tyler White:

Gustave, 23, was 3-3 with a 3.79 ERA in 47 games with Triple-A Fresno. He allowed one run on four hits over 3 13 innings with the Astros out of the bullpen.

Hoyt, 29, 4-3 with a 1.64 ERA and 29 saves in 49 games with Triple-A Fresno. Hoyt allowed seven earned runs on 11 hits over 8 23 innings with the Astros.

White, 25, is batting .209 (44x211) with seven home runs and 23 RBIs in 67 games with the Astros.

The Astros officially announce the call-up of Brady Rodgers.

Rodgers, 25, was named the 2016 Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Year after 21 starts with the Fresno Grizzlies. Rodgers has posted a 12-4 with a 2.86 ERA in 22 starts with the Grizzlies. He has allowed 42 earned runs on 129 hits and 23 walks while striking out 116.
