Preview

Despite starting off the month with a shutout against the Texas Rangers, Dallas Keuchel struggled in his last start against the St. Louis Cardinals.

In what has been an extremely tough year for the reigning Cy Young winner, he will look for a solid performance to guide the Astros to an important series sweep.

Gallardo, on the other hand, has three quality starts in his last five trips to the mound.

The biggest news of the day, though, has to be the debut of Yulieski Gourriel. Having been called up from Triple-A Fresno, the Cuban will be the designated hitter in tonight's game.

He signed a five-year, $47.5 million deal with the Astros but hadn't quite been setting the Minor Leagues ablaze. Yet, the Astros evidently believe the Cuban is ready to grace us with his presence in the Major Leagues.

The Baltimore Orioles are the only team in the American League East that the Houston Astros have a winning record against on the season.

Against the current Orioles roster, Keuchel has posted a 5.29 FIP with a K% of 17.3, and a BB% of 5.1. He has allowed five home runs, too. Gallardo has posted a strong 3.77 FIP with a K% of 16.0, and a BB% of 6.0.
