A.J. Reed is back.

The injury has bit the Houston Astros hard. Luis Valbuena is already on the 15-Day DL. Carlos Gomez and Marwin Gonzalez have both been put on the shelf for hopefully less than 15-days to avoid a DL stint. Former closer Luke Gregerson can now be added to the list.

The Astros announced the team had put Gregerson with a left oblique strain retroactive to July 28. The corresponding move on the 25-man roster is recalling prospect A.J. Reed.

Gregerson, 32, started the season as the Astros closer. He struggled with five blown saves and was taken out of the role. Gregerson found himself again in a setup role, he is 3-0 with 1.17 ERA in his last 15 games.

Reed, 23, struggled in his first sent with the major league club. He batted .156 (7x45) with two home runs and four RBIs. Reed found himself again in Fresno since being sent down, he is batting .400 (14x35) with three home runs and 11 RBIs in his last 10 games.
