The Houston Astros didn't make a move for the major league club at the trade deadline. The reason that maybe because the team already added a major league bat during the month of July with the signing of veteran Cuban player Yulieski Gurriel.
Gurriel moves up Single-A Lancaster this week and he makes his first start on Tuesday. He will bat third as the designated hitter.

Gurriel, 32, signed a five-year, $47.5 million contract earlier this month. Gurriel is excepted to make quick moved to Double-A Corpus Christi if things go well in Lancaster with the ultimate goal of Gurriel helping the Astros by season's end at the major league level. He is expected to play third base, first base or as an option at designated hitter.
Gurriel went 2-for-7 with a double in two games with the Gulf Coast League team.
