Moon, Fisher Lead Grizzlies to 8-4 Win

Chan Jong Moon continues to hit and hit a lot. At 25, nobody is expecting for him to come up and be an everyday player. His high batting average is something he's only been able to do in small sample sizes and wasn't able to do earlier in the season for Corpus in a much larger sample size.

Derek Fisher has only five games for Fresno but he's put two over the fence. The power output this season has been much better than most expected. Early in his college career it was expected, but the injuries stacked up and lowered those expectations. His batting average is pretty low and going to be the big question mark going forward. Will he make enough contact?

Hooks Break Up Combined Perfect Game to Win 2-1

Three pitchers combined for eight perfect innings. Then a fourth pitcher gets two quick outs to set bring Arkansas just one out away. But, Ramon Laureano draws a walk to end that bid. He then goes first to third on a Bobby Boyd single. Laureano then scored on a Nick Tanielu single and Boyd also went first to third. On a defensive interference, Tanielu advanced to second. But, the key is that a wild pitch allowed Boyd to score from third to win on a walk-off wild pitch. All with two outs in the ninth.

TC Loses 6-3

Tyler Britton is performing well above his draft position. He went to Greeneville and had a 33/2 SO/BB ratio in 20 1/3 innings. Now, he has 8 2/3 in TC with a 14/1 SO/BB ratio. That's about as impressive as it comes. He is already 22 so he'll have to advance quickly to be a ML pitcher. But, still this is more than you expect from a 23rd round selection.

Whitley Makes Appy League Debut in 7-6 Loss

It wasn't perfect but it was promising. He allowed two runs but they were both unearned. In the third inning, Connor MacDonald allows the first batter to reach on a fielding error. Then, Jonathan Matute had a fielding error that allowed the second runner to reach. The third batter grounded out to MacDonald with Whitley covering first. Runners were then on 2nd and third. Then, a ground ball to Whitley gets the second out and runners hold. A liner scores the first unearned run. The next hit is a groundball to Whitley in which no outs were made and a runner scored. Whitley was then removed from the game. He struck out three in those 2 2/3 innings without walks.
