Astros outfielder George Springer among candidates for A.L. All-Star final vote

Springer has tough competition if he hopes to get into the 2016 All-Star game.

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Astros already know they have two players on the 2016 American League All-Star team: second baseman Jose Altuve and closer Will Harris. But Houston could add one more if the 2016 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Final Vote goes their way. Outfielder George Springer is one of five players on the final vote ballot.

Springer, 26, is batting .262 (88x336) with 61 runs scored, 12 doubles, two triples, 19 home runs (club leaders), 50 RBIs, six stolen bases .359 on-base percentage, .479 slugging percentage, and .838 OPS. Springer has been playing at a gold glove in right field and been the smark for the Astros turn around as he bats in the leadoff role.

The Astros have tweet clear instructions on how to vote for Springer: text, vote online now and tweet #VoteSpringer starting Friday at 9 a.m.
