Triple-A: Salt Lake beats up on Peacock and Fresno

Alex Bregman continues to rake after his promotion. He homered and drove in three. Not much else happening offensively outside of a Fontana and Heineman double.

Brad Peacock continues to occupy a warm and cozy 40-man roster spot. He was lit up pretty good in this affair. Reymin Guduan (the only LH reliever that is a viable Sipp replacement) issued 3 walks and only recorded 2 outs. Not a great night for the pitching staff.

Double-A: Corpus Christi (53-27) pummels the Tulsa Drillers(43-36), 12-6

Danry Vasquez had a 3-hit night. James Ramsay, Mott Hyde, JD Davi, and Nick Tanielu each also had a couple of base knocks. Good showing from the offense after a rough start to the 2nd half.

Kent Emmanuel was just average. He scattered 7 hits and 3 walks decently. He only allowed 3 earned. That WHIP took a hit though.

Class A Advanced: Lancaster (40-40) falls to Lake Elsinore (38-43), 3-2

Ramon Laureano and Jason martin each had a couple of hits. Martin reached base three times by adding a walk. He's got an ISO of .287 at home, but it's also .234 on the road. Martin is a guy that would be a top 5 Astros prospect back in 2010. The farm is so deep now it's insane.

Dean Deetz, Gonzalo Sanudo, and Scott Weathersby all pitched well. Sanudo K'ed 4 over 3 innings.

Osvaldo Duarte had a triple and a walk in the loss. Duarte played in CF for this game instead of his usual SS. Hard throwing Albert Abreu pitched very well in his start, only allowing 4 base runners over 8 innings and striking out 5.

Ryne Birk, Daz Cameron, and Stephen Wrenn all homered for the Valley Cats. The Valley Cats piled up 14 hits, 8 of which went for extra bases.

Hector Perez struck out 6 over 5.2 innings. The 20 year old from the Dominican Republic has struck out 20 over 17.1 and has a WHIP of .87.

Fantastic pitching performances by Gabriel Valdez and Cesar Rosado. Both are off to hot starts in the GCL.

Rough game. Not much positive comes out of this one. Spencer Johnson and Wander Franco had 2 hits a piece. That's about it.
