That fact was solidified on July 4, 1776, when the Second Continental Congress voted to approve a resolution of independence.
July 4 has a special relationship with baseball. Baseball is one of the few if not the only major sport that is played during the holiday. The national pastime is center stage as everyone is celebrating everything American. That isn't by mistake as baseball is as American as apple play.
The Astros will celebrate Independence Day by wearing a special star and stripes covered jersey and hat combo.
