Preview
The Astros' short-lived, two-game winning streak is over after Hisashi Iwakumasilenced the Astros on Saturday. Houston hopes to get back in the win column against Mike Montgomery.
Montgomery wasn't originally announced coming out of the All-Star break as the Sunday starter for the Mariners, Scott Servais waited until Friday to make the move. Montgomery was an easy choice and refreshing surprise this seasons for the M's.
Montgomery is 1-1 with a 1.31 ERA in his last seven games. He is making just his second start this season after coming out of the pen 30 previous times already in 2016. In his first start on July 10, he allowed one run on five hits over 6 1/3 innings against the Royals.
Montgomery is 1-0 with a 1.23 ERA in six career games (one start, 14 2/3 IP) against Houston. Current Astros are batting .208 (10x48) against Montgomery with a .263 BABIP, 3.04 FIP, 18.5 K%, and a 11.1 BB%.
