Preview
Yup, the last two games have soul-sucking. There is no reason to look back on them except for the fact the Astros have been in both games. The Astros have matched the Rangers stride for stride. The Astros can give the old college try one more time to improve upon their 0-8 record against the Rangers.
Doug Fister faces the newly return Yu Darvish on Wednesday. Fister has been the Astros best pitcher for much of the season, as the very least he has earned the spot of not being pushed to the bullpen. Fister pitched six innings of scoreless baseball in his last outing, and he allowed just two runs over six innings in his one start against Texas this season.
Fister is 4-5 with a 5.18 ERA in 11 career starts against the Rangers, and he is 0-3 with a 9.15 ERA in four starts against the Rangers at Globe Life Park. Current Rangers are batting .278 (32x115) against Fister with a .283 BABIP, 3.75 FIP, 8.1 K%, and a 2.4 BB%.
