If not for Tony Sipp, the Astros would have opened the series against the Angels with a blowout win. But no matter, the Astros at least for the moment appear to have hit their stride. The team has won their last three games with a plethora of hits and solid starting pitching.

Collin McHugh is looking for his fifth quality start in his last seven outings. But McHugh's two non-quality starts have come in June. In McHugh's last start, June 15 against the Cardinals, he allowed just one run over 6 2/3 innings.

In his last start, McHugh allowed just one run on seven hits over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out six and walked two against the Cardinals on June 15.

McHugh is 4-2 with a 2.86 ERA in seven career starts against the Angels with 39 strikeouts and 12 walks. McHugh has been slightly better at home with a 3-2 record with a 4.76 ERA in seven starts in 2016.

Hector Santago had his best start of 2016 in his last outing, giving up one run on two hits over six innings against the Twins. But Santago has struggled overall, he is 2-2 with a 6.97 ERA in his last seven starts.
