Happy Father's Day to all the fathers, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers in Astroland. This day is for all the fathers have played catch until it was dark, trekked to the Astrodome and Minute Maid Park game after game, and taught the national pastime to the next generation.
For me personally, I wouldn't be here in more ways than one if not for my father John. Dad was a hippie from the east coast that dabbled in being a sports fan. But when his son's passion was Astros baseball, he took him every Sunday to the Astrodome. He made sure we were there when the Astros clinched their playoff spot in 2004 and 2005. Hundreds of games later, he is still cultivating my passion.
A few on our staff are having their first Father's Day it's a special one this year for the TCB staff. To all those whoever doesn't have their father to celebrate with anymore, I wish you fond memories on this day.
Here's to an enjoyable day with the family, fathers of TCB.
