So can we all agree to forget about yesterday's game? Good. It was another painful chapter in an already painful season. Thankfully baseball is a game where the team doesn't have to wait long to make up for mistakes. The first place Mariners and the last place Astros square off again on Friday.
Doug Fister on is on the mound for the Astros. Fister has put together three straight quality starts in his last three outings. In allowed one run over 6 2/3 innings against Oakland on 95 pitches.
Included in those quality starts is his outing in Seattle on April 25, Fister allowed three runs over six innings. It was the most extreme stretch of the term "quality start" as Fister walked a career-high seven batters in the game. Leonys Martin and Kyle Seager touched up Fister for a home run each in that game.
Current Mariners are batting .239 (26x109) against Fister with a .239 BABIP, 5.70 FIP, 10.5 K%, and an 11.3 BB%.
