Nothing has been easy for the 2016 Houston Astros. Tuesday night was no exception. The Astros led 4-3 going into the ninth inning. Luke Gregerson couldn't hold the lead, sending the game into extra innings. But Evan Gattis came to his rescue.
Gattis faced former Houston Astros reliever Matt Albers in the 11th inning with a runner on, two out and a 0-2 count. Gattis crushed a 92 MPH sinker deep into the Chicago night. The ball landed into the left field bleacher to give the Astros a 6-4 lead.
The two runs would be needed as Tony Sipp would give one run in the bottom of the 11th, but Gattis' home run proved enough as the Astros won 6-5.
Now watch the home run:
Gattis returned to the Astros on Tuesday night after spending two weeks in Double-A Corpus to learn the catcher position again. He was used as the designed hitter on Tuesday.
