MLB Opening Day 2016: Astros, Yankees starting lineups

Marwin Gonzalez gets the start for the Astros on Opening Day.

Jonathan Dyer-USA TODAY Sports

Baseball is finally back. The New York Yankees start right where they left off with the Houston Astros. The Astros won the 2015 Wild Card game 3-0 in Yankee Stadium. Dallas Keuchel and Masahiro Tanaka dueled in the game, they will again on Opening Day.

Tuesday, April 6 - 12:05 CT W L ERA FIP IP K/9 BB/9 HR/9 BABIP fWAR
LHP Dallas Keuchel 20 8 2.48 2.91 232 8.38 1.98 0.66 0.269 6.1
RHP Masahiro Tanaka 12 7 3.51 3.98 154 8.12 1.58 1.46 0.242 2.2

The biggest surprise with the Astros lineup for Opening Day is the selection of Marwin Gonzalez over Tyler White. White beat out Jon Singleton for the first base position batted .353 (18x51) with three home runs and 12 RBIs this spring. But Gonzalez is a more veteran option on a very high energy day on Opening Day.
