Not a great night....not a great night at all.....

Fresno Struggles All Around in 8-1 Loss

Whenever you allow eight runs in a game, there is an aspect of struggle for the pitching staff. That includes games with all earned runs and those with limited earned runs. In this instance only three were earned. So, that leads to the second struggle. Defense. Four errors happened on the night and three were from Asher Wojciechowski and Roberto Pena. The fourth came from Jon Kemmer. A total of four base runners appears to be another source of struggle.

Top Prospects Have Bad Days in Hooks 8-3 Loss

Francis Martes is now one of the crown jewels of the Astros system. But last night was a bump in the road for him. Five runs allowed and all were earned. The rough part is that it all happened in the first inning, an inning he failed to complete. And, an inning failed to record a strikeout in.

A potentially worse day came for Alex Bregmann. Late in the game he tweaked his ankle. Haven't heard anything on the severity of it though.

Martin Continues Hot Hitting in 11-4 Loss

Jason Martin is a TCB favorite and has been racking up hits during this short season. Last night included three more hits, one of which was a triple.
