Houston Astros outfielder George Springer must see the ball well at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Springer has made a few miraculous plays in Arlington over the years. He added one more marvelous defense play Wednesday.
In the sixth inning, Texas Rangers first baseman Prince Fielder got all of a Doug Fister pitch. Fielder flicked the ball out to right center. Springer on a dead sprint tracked the ball. The Astros right fielder laid out to catch the ball that would have surely gone for extra bases if it had gotten past Springer.
The icing on the cake for the play was the boyish smile from Astros starter Doug Fister. Fister tipped his cap to Springer following the play.
Last season, Springer brought back a grand slam home run with a leaping catch in Arlington in early April.
The Astros are playing one more game in Arlington, what will Springer do next?
