The Houston Astros problems are solved, right? Dallas Keuchel looks like Dallas Keuchel at home and the Astros picked up a win on Friday. Everything probably isn't solved yet. The offense still looked rusty and Keuchel can't pitch every game. Friday only proves the value of an ace. The Astros have a starter that can stop the bleeding when called upon.
It's now Collin McHugh job to build upon that Friday success for another Astros win. McHugh hopes to also build on his second start of the season and not his first. McHugh gave five earned runs over 1/3 of an inning in his first start and pitching seven scoreless in his second.
Collin McHugh is 0-1 with 2.57 ERA in two career start against the Tigers. He has struck out nine over 14 innings. Current Tigers are batting .255 (13x51) with .293 BABIP, .293 FIP, 3.508 K%, and 5.00 BB%.

The mystery of Justin Verlander continues. Verlander is being paid $28 million this season as part of 6-year, $162 million dollar contract that runs till 2020. He is paid like an ace but he is pitching like a No.4 or No. 5 starter the past few season. Verlander's pitches are flat and he hasn't figured out the issue. But at this point, it may beyond fixing. He has allowed 10 runs over 10 1/3 innings this season. Verlander has been great in his career at Minute Maid Park. Verlander is 1-0 with a 2.13 ERA in four starts.
Current Astros are batting .140 (13x93) against Verlander with a .194 BABIP, 2.779 FIP, 28.30 K%, and 11.00 BB%.
