Houston Astros (3-5) vs. Kansas City Royals (5-2), Apr 13, 2016, 7:10 PM CDT
RHP Scott Feldman (0-1, 9.00 ERA, 1.31 WHIP) vs. RHP Yordano Ventura (0-0, 3.60 ERA, 1.30 WHIP)
The Houston Astros and Kansas City Royals squared off for the second time this season last night in Minute Maid Park, and all five runs in the game came in the first inning. Scott Feldman will get the ball for the Astros and look to avoid a similar outcome tonight and get back on track after a forgettable first start (a loss) in Milwaukee that saw the big right-handed veteran last just four innings, allowing four runs on just five hits (including two home runs) with three walks.
Preston Tucker rejoins the lineup as the designated hitter, and Carlos Gomez has been dropped from the fifth spot in the order to the seventh.
Yordano Ventura had a rough 2016 debut of his own, but held Houston batters to a .222/.250/.370 slash line in 2015 while allowing just one run. The Astros will likely be hoping to jump on his blistering fastball early in the count to avoid his excellent breaking pitches.
