Fresno at Las Vegas (NYM) and Lancaster at San Jose (SF) were both rained out.

AA - Corpus Christi Hooks at the Springfield Cardinals (STL)

Chase McDonald hit his 2nd homer of the year. Jack Mayfield also homered, but it was not enough to overcome the defensive woes. An error on a missed catch by Mott Hyde on what would have been a double play and out of the inning ended up spiraling into a 3-spot for the Cardinals. Cy Sneed was sharp in his 4 innings.

Hooks lose 4-6. They even up at 2-2 on the season.

A - Cedar Rapids Kernels (MIN) at the Quad Cities RiverBandits

Osvaldo Duarte had 3 hits at the short stop position. Daz Cameron and Kyle Tucker each had a hit also. Matt Bower, drafted in the 23rd round last year out of Washington State had a strong game. I don't know much about him but here is Brooks Parker's draft profile on him from last year.

23.679 Matt Bower, LHP, Washington State

Used almost exclusively as a reliever, he accumulated 47 innings and had an impressive 53 strikeouts. He also made two starts this season. He’s currently pitching as a starter in the Northwoods League. This was his junior year so he can still go back to school to compete for a starting spot and possibly raise his draft stock. --Brooks

6 foot, 5 inches. Left handed. He's only thrown 31.2 innings in his short pro career but that comes with 33 strikeouts and only 1 walk. He also induces a decent amount of ground balls.

Matt Bowers Batted Ball Profile

Matt Bowers is officially on my radar.

RiverBandits lose 2-3. They fall to 0-4 on the young season.
