Brad Peacock was all but perfect in his four starts leading up to Friday’s game. He is 0-0 with a 2.25 ERA. It appeared the key was making sure Peacock wasn’t seen for a third time through the lineup.
But that Cinderella story finally fell apart and Peacock turned back into a pumpkin at Angel Stadium. The Angels scored seven runs (five earned) against Peacock in a 7-1 win.
A bases-loaded doubled from Kaleb Cowart cleared the bases and put the Halos up 3-1 in the second inning. Cowart would score on a throw down to second to get Ji-Man Choi. Jefry Marte added a fifth run with a solo shot, and Adrelton Simmons plated two in the fifth to send Peacock to the showers.
The Astros lone run came from Teoscar Hernandez, who plated Carlos Correa with a ground rule double.
David Paulino pitched three scoreless innings in relief, allowing just one hit and striking out two.
