The Houston Astros quietly dropped a bombshell Thursday morning as the team was first to announce that Houston had signed right-handed pitcher Doug Fister. Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow and Doug Fister didn't wait long to face the media holding a press conference at 2 p.m. local time.
Fister put on an Astros uniform for the first time:

Luhnow talked about the decision to bring Fister into the fold:
