As baseball continues to chug toward the 2016 season, MLB Pipeline continues to rank the top prospects by position. The Houston Astros had a representative on the top 10 list for shortstop prospect at No. 7, Alex Bregman.

Joining Bregman on the top ten list at No. 1 is Corey Seager (Dodgers), followed by J.P. Crawford (Phillies), Orlando Arcia (Brewers), Dansby Swanson (Braves), Trea Turner (Nationals), Brendan Rodgers (Rockies), Bregman, Franklin Barreto (Athletics), Gleyber Torres (Cubs), and Ozhaino Albies (Braves).
Bregman was selected with the second-overall pick in the 2015 Draft and Rodgers was selected by Colorado Rockies wit the third-overall pick. Rodgers was thought of the top prospect coming into the draft out of Lake Mary High School in Florida.
Bregman played for Class A Advanced Lancaster and Class A Quad Cities, combining to hit .294 (80x272) with 13 doubles, four triples, four homers, 34 RBI, 13 steals and a .366 on-base percentage in 66 games.
Rodgers played 37 games for Rookie Ball Grand Junction Rockies, batting .273 (39x143) with eight doubles, two triples, three home runs, 20 RBIs, four stolen bases and a .340 on-base percentage.
