Astros activate George Springer from the 15-day disabled list; recall Michael Feliz

Astros have activated outfielder George Springer from the 15-day disabled list and have recalled right-handed pitcher Michael Feliz from Double A Corpus Christi -- Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow announced today.

Springer has been out since July 2 with a right wrist fracture, after being hit by a on July 1 against the Royals. Prior to going on the Disabled List, Springer was hitting .264 (73x276) with 14 doubles, 13 home runs, 29 RBI and 14 stolen bases in 75 games this season.

Springer was sent to Double A Corpus Christi for a rehab assignment this past week, he appeared in five games. He hit .278 (5x18) with four runs scored, a double, two walks and a stolen base.

Michael Feliez is 7-4 with a 2.83 ERA (35ER/111.1IP) in 23 games (17 starts) combined for Corpus Christi (15g) and Class A Lancaster (8g). During his time at Double A, Feliz went 6-2 with a 2.17 ERA (19ER/78.2IP), while allowing just a .185 opponent batting average. Feliz has made one Major League appearance this season, tossing a scoreless inning on May 31 vs. CWS. This will be his 3rd stint with the Astros this year.
