Jeff Luhnow talks about Stearns depature

The man at the top has a space to fill.

The Astros general manager released a statement about the departure of assistant general manager David  Stearns to the Brewers:

"David is a talented baseball executive and was a very valuable part of the Astros organization. We are grateful for his contributions and wish him the best of success in Milwaukee - they are fortunate to have him. We will determine a replacement for David in the offseason."

Stearns was named Brewers general today in Milwaukee. Luhnow on further to say today, that the position has changed over the past three season and thus the requires for applicants are different.

On another front another member of the Astros front office interviewed for a general manager position. Director of player development Quinton McCracken is interviewing the Red Sox.
