Astros Prospect Report: Good pitching performances by Hauschild, Westwood, Freeman, Comer, Weathersby, Montano and Abreu

Your daily look at the previous night's Minor League happenings.

[AAA] Fresno loses close one to Albuquerque despite lackluster offense: (L 3-2)

Late rally comes up short.  Pitching was good, with Hauschild going 6, getting knocked around a little but limiting the damage to 3 runs; his 8 K's and 1 BB was nice to see as well.  Chapman, Minaya and Hoyt shut the door on the Isotopes to keep it close.

On the offensive side not much was going on, they were able to scratch out 2 runs on 4 hits and 4 walks.  Hoes was the only player with multiple hits.

[AA] Corpus gets a little rough with Frisco: (W 10-2)

First off, good all around game.  Westwood was fantastic on the mound and every starter got in on the action  offensively for the Hooks.  Reed homers, Kemmer continues to impress, Moran keeping his surge going since returning from DL a while back.  Moon with three outstanding defensive plays in the eighth.  Springer looks healthy and ready to go to join the Astros soon!

[A+] Lancaster outhits Bakersfield but can't plate any runs: (L 2-0)

Ramsay with a 4x4 night, all singles, Bregman and Fisher with 2 hits and Mitchell with 1, which is all the JetHawks could muster offensively.  12 runners left on base for the night, ouch.  On the pitching end Freeman and Comer shut down the Blaze but the offense just couldn't put it together.

Tucker continues to show nice things with hit tool and speed.  Goedert, Cesar and Ayarza with multi-hit nights, all four of the guys mentioned were responsible for the RBI's on the night.

Pitching was outstanding, Montano and Abreu held the Rays scoreless over 9 IP, with only 2 BB combined.  Abreu with 5 SO in his save bid.
