Preview

After struggling vs the Rangers, the Astros were looking to come to Oakland and get some wins back. Unfortunately, the Astros haven't done so - which makes Sundays game so much more crucial.

Mike Fiers has never made a start for the Houston but he has made an appearance. He appeared in relief for Lance McCullers and Josh Fields, going 5 innings allowing 7 hits, 6 ER, striking out 6 while walking 3. The Astros are hanging on Fiers to give them a performance their bats can back. While, the A's are just hoping Bassitt can do what he's been doing. Bassitt has thrown 3 straight gems averaging 6.2 IP, 1.67 runs allowed, 5.3 hits allowed, walking 1 and striking out 5.6.

Chris Bassitt has made 1 start vs Houston. He went 4+ innings allowing 3 runs.

The only players who has success were:

Chris Carter with a hit (1-2), RBI

Jed Lowrie with a hit (1-2), BB

Jose Altuve did not have any success, going 0-2 vs Bassitt.

Mike Fiers hasn't faced the Oakland Athletics this year and has little to no experience vs any Oakland A's. He has only faced Ike Davis, striking him out twice and walked him once.
