Pitching Matchup:

RHP Lance McCullers Jr. (5-4, 3.12 ERA, 1.21 WHIP) vs. RHP Ervin Santana (2-4, 6.05 ERA, 1.53 WHIP)

Preview:

Lance McCullers Jr. steps back onto the rubber for the 2nd time since his stint in AA earlier this month He twirled a solid game last Sunday against the Dodgers in Houston, giving up 8 hits, 2 earned runs, striking out 8, and earning a win. He's hoping to keep the flame of good pitching burning for the Astros after Mike Fiers pitched yet another masterpiece last night.

¿Oye como va? Muy mal for Ervin Santana. He's had a rough August, throwing a 9.12 ERA and picking up 3 losses with no wins. He was unable to get out of the 3rd inning Tuesday against the Rays, giving up 5 earned runs on 8 hits in the no-decision. The Twins hope Santana can bounce back the evil ways against a somewhat weakened Houston lineup.

Speaking of which, Carlos Correa is out yet again with a hamstring tweak. This will be his 4th game in a row missed as Marwin Gonzalez takes over once more at shortstop. He is one home run away from being the 10th Astro to hit double digit home runs this season, a team record. George Springer is still rehabbing a wrist injury down in Corpus Christi and Hank Conger will get the start behind plate again for the injured Jason Castro. Chris Carter starts at 1st base for the first time since Monday. He hopes to reignite Trogdor from within to give the 'Stros an offensive boost in lieu of their younger stars.
