Jason Castro to disabled list, Max Stassi recalled; Correa may not appear in Minnesota

The Astros hoped to avoid making a move before September call ups but alas it was required.

The Astros were hoping to not have to place Jason Castro on the disabled list until September call ups on Tuesday. But, Castro's quad is tender enough that wouldn't be able to help even in extreme situations. Today, the Astros placed Castro on 15-day disabled list and recalled Max Stassi from Triple A Fresno.

Castro was injured in the 5th inning during Friday's game as he hit a double. He came up lame rounding first and left the game their after. He was diagnosed with right quad strain.

Stattis is batting .211 (62x294) with 13 home runs and 43 RBIs in 84 games with Triple A Fresno.
