Preview:

There is so much news to discuss for this game.

First, George Springer has departed for Corpus Christi to begin his rehab assignment.  He
will be starting in right field and will bat leadoff.  Check back to this specific thread and we
will keep you updated in the comments section on his night.

Next, most Astros fans noticed (and Ryan Dunsmore posted about it here) that Carlos
Correa
was out again last night after tweaking his hamstring in the 15-1 win over the
Yankees.  Including the off day before the Minnesota series, last night was the third day in
a row that Correa has not played a baseball game.  Astros fans will clearly be hoping
that it will be a short absence for him, but Correa has been confirmed to be out of the
lineup again tonight for the Astros.  Meanwhile, his biggest AL Rookie Of The Year
competition, Miguel Sano, is returning to the lineup tonight from a very similar injury.

Jason Castro also suffered a quad injury while legging out a double last night.  He is
nursing the injury today, and the Astros have officially placed him on the 15 day
disabled Mike Fiers returns to the mound for the Astros 8 days after throwing his first career no-hitter versus the Dodgerslist and recalled catcher Max Stassi from AAA Fresno.

A quick look at Max Stassi's pertinent offensive statistics:

Max Stassi will be with the team tonight in Minneapolis.

Phew.  Tired yet?

We haven't even talked about the game tonight yet.

Mike Fiers will make his first start since throwing a no-hitter against the Dodgers last
Friday night.  He will be opposed by Mike Pelfrey, who is coming off a decent (three
runs on nine hits) but short (4.2 IP) start against the Orioles this past Sunday.  In fact,
the short outing is fairly indicative of Twins starting pitching recently.  Their bullpen has
been very heavily taxed, but they've responded well - their record in their last ten games
is 7-3, just like the Astros.
