Lots of home runs! Even a dominant pitching debut at a new level. And DSL Blue eliminated.

Steven Branscombe-USA TODAY Sports

Fresno Falls 3-2

Hey! Tyler White had two hits! Raise your hand if this doesn't surprise you anymore. Nobody? That's what I figured. He also had two walks. Anyone else surprised? Thought so.

Luis Cruz used ninety-four pitches to get through three and a third innings. NINETY-FOUR!

Reed Has Perfect Night in 17-6 Hooks Win

It was his eighth in Double-A, but it was A.J. Reed's thirty-first this season and the leader in all of the minor leagues. You can see video of the home run and read about his transition to CC here.

The downside of this game is that Francis Martes had an atrocious debut in the Texas League. He allowed three free passes and gave up two home runs. It took him ninety-nine pitches to get through 4 1/3 innings and his game score was a 26.

Bregman's Hit Streak Goes to 14 Games in 16-4 JetHawks Win

The beauty of small sample sizes. It doesn't seem that long ago that fans were upset with Alex Bregman's low batting average. Now, he has a fourteen game hitting streak and is hitting .336 in Lancaster and .300 overall for the season. Hows an .872 OPS look? Over the last ten games, he's hitting .472 and, this is my favorite part, has a 6/1 BB-SO ratio.

I'm pointing this out to say that you can't ignore sample sizes. Sure, he had a low batting average in QC, but the sample wasn't large enough to say anything about it. Double the sample size and look what he's done.

You can read quotes from hitting coach Darryl Robinson on how Bregman has been working to improve here.

Armenteros' Dominant Debut Leads QC in 3-0 Win

The 21-year old Cuban defector, Rogelio Armenteros, was the opening night starter for TC and was dominant then but also took some lumps this season. But, he earned a promotion to QC and was dominant in his debut. It was a career night for him as he punched out nine of the nineteen batters he faced. He gave up just one hit and allowed just one walk. A 73 game score for a debut at a higher level is one way to bring attention to yourself.

Goedert Homers in Greeneville's 3-1 Win

It was Connor Goedert's sixth home run of the season and elevates his OPS to .814. He was slumping some over the past several games, but the three hits last night is a good sign.
