Straily Bests Owens in 5-4 Fresno Win
Dan Straily
Versus
Rudy Owens
Straily wins with a Game Score of 50 to Owens' 30.
Between his seven strikeouts, no walks, 99/67 P/S ratio, and 6/2 GO/AO ratio, I'll call it a good game.

Hooks use 3-Run 9th to Win 4-3
Oddly enough, my parents were at this game. My mom, who doesn't care about baseball, probably texted my sister and I more than she watched the game, yet somehow talked to Aaron West and met Danry Vasquez's fiance. Pop, on the other hand got A.J. Reed's autograph.
Anyway, Chris Devenski got back on track after allowing twenty-three runs since the All-Star break. Pitching six shut out innings is certainly a good way to turn it around. A game score of 72 will get some recognition, or at least a butt smack from a coach.

Lancaster Racks Up Runs Late in 8-2 Win
Anthony likes to remind us on occasion that Chase McDonald can hit the ball really hard. McDonald put up some good power numbers in college and has done so even in the pros. This season his ISO is almost to .300 which is absurd, even for Lancaster. We all know he's a thick guy, but he uses his hips very well in his swing. He uses a quiet toe tap timing for his swing and does well with getting his hips moving forward while creating load in his upper body. It all comes together for a very powerful swing.

Ferrell Tosses Gem in QC's 4-3 Loss
JUSTIN, not Riley, Ferrell matched Devenski's 72 Game Score. He's still a head scratcher for me since he has 27/24 SO/BB ratio in over fifty innings but has a 2.22 ERA. I'd love to sit behind home plate and really watch him work. MiLB.tv just isn't enough sometimes.

TC Gives Up 3 HR's in 8-4 Loss
Ready for a SSS HAWT TAKE on the 2015 draft? ANDREW BENINTENDI HIT TWO HOME RUNS AGAINST TC! WE SHOULD HAVE DRAFTED HIM NUMBER TWO OVERALL!
Okay, I'm done. No, in all seriousness, I really like Benintendi, but number two would have been too rich for me. However, The Joe can be a very hitter friendly park at times and he took advantage.

It eventually comes at some point or another for a lot of hitters, might as well get it out of the way now and file it away for a long, long, long, long, long time.

GCL Astros Lose 3-2
I know I've said this before, but Franklin Perez was my favorite IFA signing last year. He made his state-side debut yesterday and gave up an unearned run while striking out two. He wasn't the best pitcher in pure stuff but he has his fair share as well as some of the better mechanics I've seen out of a IFA his age. He's got some room to fill out and he's on my short list of pitchers that could see their stocks soar in the next year or two.
